What is the opportunity?
Wealth Management Applied Analytics and Innovation (WM AI) is responsible for developing and implementing a data and analytics strategy that delivers key insights to Senior Management, Advisors, and supporting functions across RBC Wealth Management. The team leverages deep experience in business strategy, Data Science, and visualization techniques to support its goal of empowering the organization with actionable insights to drive its ongoing success.
Within WM AI, the Web Development team is responsible for building and supporting various applications that are driving advanced insight and innovation for the Wealth Management business. Through leveraging emergent web technologies, the web development team creates an interactive experience with real time visualizations for Wealth Management and RBC.
What will you do?
Design and implement user-friendly experiences using modern web frameworks
Extend existing web applications with new UI elements and features in collaboration with other developers
Build robust and well-tested solutions
Work closely with data scientists, engineers, as well as business stakeholders
Create functional prototypes for new concepts and ideas
Communicate and document technical and architectural decisions
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or other related discipline with experience in building applications
Experience using a frontend framework like Vue.js, React, or Angular
Experience with version control tools such as Git with platforms such as GitHub
Driven to ensure good and robust design principles. Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Strong problem-solving skills, proactive in looking for solutions and researching new techniques
A self-starter attitude (e.g., someone who is able to take initiative to own their project and drive it to completion)
Nice to Have:
Expressed interest or previous experience in Wealth Management, Finance or FinTech.
Backend development experience, preferably with Python
Experience with DevOps practices using tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
Some experience with AWS technologies such as S3, EC2, and RDS
Extensive experience designing and building analytical solutions to solve real world problems, with strong preference of this experience in financial risk area
