Job Description


The Digital Technology Operations team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to convert paper processes to digital. In this role you will be responsible for building out our API economy for many capabilities. The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.


  • Apply design patterns, coding standards, and best practices to produce secure, reliable, reusable and scalable code

  • Achieving code test coverage using frameworks like Mockito, WireMock, etc.

  • Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner.

  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate

  • Develop and execute on end to end change management plans and plan and execute all communication related to these.

  • Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.

  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.



  • Advanced knowledge of web / API and Microservices application development experience with JSON, XML, SOAP/REST

  • 2 years + development experience in Java 8/11 utilizing the Spring Boot framework.

  • Continuous Integration tools - Jenkins, Git, Cloud, Automated Testing tools, etc.

  • Experience with relational database technologies DB2/SQL Server

  • Process knowledge including different testing tools, design techniques and tools, risk assessment and quantification methodologies.


  • Experience in JavaScript and groovy scripting

  • Experience with Camunda

  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses

  • Systems knowledge including different programming languages, IT standards, methodologies, capability maturity model (CMM), audit requirements, and middleware technologies.
