Job Description

Must have expertise and experience installing and/or updating Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform

We tend to see a lot of candidates that have no experience installing/upgrading the platform, but instead operations folks who use the platform and services installed with the platform. We want the engineers who are architecting and installing the platforms and supporting them entirely from the ground up

In general, if they have a strong background with Kubernetes that is a major plus

OpenShift is essentially Kubernetes under the hood, some other Kubernetes platforms similar to OpenShift are Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) our team's focus is OpenShift though

If they have experience with DevOps/GitOps and programming/scripting (i.e. Java, C++, bash, python, Go) skills, this is a plus as well

This all ties into automation, which we like. So, if they have these skills then they have experience with automating things (we like this ??)

Ansible/Terraform are technologies around automation that we like to see, not necessarily a requirement or something we work with every day, but again shows that they have experience with the automation stuff

Experience with Public Clouds is a plus as well, primarily with Microsoft Azure

And just some little things we like to hear as well:

Hobbies and passion for technology

Comfortable on the command line/terminal

Strong verbal skills who can lead discussions and advise development teams for the platform they support (OpenShift)

Required Qualifications:

4+ Years of experience of OpenShift Container Platform. Must have experience in installation both IPI & UPI, upgrade, configuration of various OpenShift resources (Customization of ingress Gateway, ServiceMesh, Quay, MachineConfigPools, MachineSets), trouble shooting OpenShift on On-Premise as well as Public Cloud provider platform

5+ Years of experience in designing and supporting Enterprise Infrastructure

5+ years of depth knowledge of Linux Operating system and VMware hypervisor

5+ Years of experience in designing and implementing new on-premises and Public cloud resources while implementing best practices and industry standards

3+ Years of experience in migrating on-premises infrastructure to Public cloud

3+ Years of experience working in container platform monitoring and alerts for resource availability such as Prometheus, App Dynamics, Dynatrace

2+ years of experience working in environment having different Public Cloud services (EC2, S3, VPCs, Subnets, SG's, Resource Groups, etc ) deployment

High degree of knowledge in IAM Roles, Policies and RBAC

High degree of knowledge in IT security

Strong problem determination and debugging skills

Demonstrated experience utilizing verbal and written communication and conversation skills

Highly skilled negotiator with proven ability to reach mutually satisfactory agreements by using a persuasive communication style

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of other container platform technology (Kubernetes) such as AKS, GKE, and EKS

Vast understanding of cloud services and solutions in platforms such as Azure

Experience working with Azure PaaS, Azure networking, and Azure site reliability solutions (specific examples of each will be requested)

Strong practical knowledge of Linux server operating systems (on-premises & IaaS)

Experience with DevSecOps

Experience with Container image scanning tool such as Prisma
