Position Overview:

As a Software Engineer 2, the candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-class applications. The role requires proficiency in front-end and back-end development, with strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and related technologies. This position focuses on developing responsive and progressive web applications, implementing RESTful and SOAP services, and working collaboratively in agile environments to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Software Development:Design, develop, and maintain front-end and back-end features of enterprise applications. Write, test, and deploy high-quality code using Java, J2EE, and related frameworks. Implement responsive web design principles for Progressive Web Applications.
2. Application Deployment:Deploy and maintain applications on IBM WebSphere and WebLogic servers. Implement caching strategies, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
3. Web Services Development:Develop and consume RESTful and SOAP web services using Swagger OpenAPI Specifications (OAS).
4. UI/UX Design and Prototyping:Create user journey mappings, storyboards, mockups, wireframes, and fast prototypes to enhance application usability.
5. Code Management and Documentation:Utilize tools like Git, SVN, Maven, and Jira for version control and task management. Document technical designs, standards, and configuration plans.
6. Accessibility and Compliance:Ensure compliance with accessibility standards like WCAG 2.0 and Section 508.
7. Agile Collaboration:Actively participate in agile software development practices, including scrums and sprints. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
8. Testing and Quality Assurance:Conduct test automation using tools such as Selenium, LoadRunner, and Karma/Jasmine. Perform static code analysis using tools like SonarQube or Veracode.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

• 7+ years: Professional software engineering experience.
• 6+ years: Hands-on front-end/UI development with J2EE applications.
• 5+ years: Front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, Bootstrap, JSP, and JSON.
• 4+ years: Deployment experience with IBM WebSphere and WebLogic application servers.
• 4+ years: Experience in SOAP/RESTful web services development.
• 3+ years: Expertise in responsive and progressive web app development.
• Skills:
• Proficient in Java, J2EE, HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, and front-end libraries.
• Strong understanding of agile development practices.
• Experience with tools like Swagger, Postman, Selenium, and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of accessibility compliance and UI testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in technical documentation and design standards.
• Working knowledge of DFPS systems and programs (IMPACT, PACES, etc.).
• Familiarity with responsive/mobile development.
• Hands-on experience with test automation and continuous integration tools.
• Knowledge of user accessibility standards and frameworks like WCAG 2.0.
